Besides using pre-recorded messages to deliver specific information to callers, important information can also be collected from a caller through a voice mail/recording message utility.

This utility can be used in a variety of ways. For example, if a call center is experiencing a high volume of calls, a caller may have the option to leave a recorded message requesting a customer service representative call back when the call volume has reduced. Another use for a recording message utility is to have needed information recorded such as a caller's address and contact information. The collected information can be used as a means for verification and confirmation of transactions over the phone. It can also be transcribed if necessary.
