Symago announced that it has been awarded a primary contract to supply IVR services to the North Carolina Education Lottery. The contract, which started on June 21, 2010, has an initial term of three years with three one-year extension options. Symago was chosen in an open and competitive procurement process based on its technical solution and cost per minute. Symago was awarded the contract over competing proposals based on the technical requirements and cost. Symago proposed the lowest per minute usage fee at $0.0039 per minute which is one of the lowest in the industry for a lottery IVR application. Symago is expected to generate approximately $700,000 per year in revenues for each year of the contract. Currently, NCEL customers are making nearly 1.5 million calls per month.

The objective of this project is to provide an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Application and related services for lottery players to retrieve lottery results over the telephone. Lotteries include Powerball, Mega Millions, Pick 3, Pick 4, Cash 5 and specific raffle games. Callers may also transfer to the lottery player hotline and security for live assistance.

“The North Carolina Education Lottery has been pleased with the service provided by Symago in the past and looks forward to a continued working relationship,” says Alice Garland, Deputy Executive Director of Legislative and Corporate Communications.
