Businesses offering products or services can accept payments by telephone. Depending on a business' preference, callers may initiate payments using credit cards or banking account numbers. Through a series of voice prompts and instructions, the IVR database collects the necessary information, such as card number, expiration date, ACH bank routing number, and address verification. Businesses can even add appropriate fees for the use of this service and confirm total payment amounts. Organizations such as utility companies and telecommunications companies frequently utilize this type of IVR system.
