TTY / TDD
Text Telephone (TTY) / Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) utilizes teleprinting devices that communicate messages back and forth with a compatible telephone system. It is primarily used by the hearing and speech impaired and provides a means of ‘talking' on the phone. Users of a TTY can read information or conversations that are relayed onto a specific telecommunications device. This feature used in conjunction with an IVR system, allows a TTY caller to access voice prompts and information like any other caller. |
